UX Designer/Developer

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative individual into the role of UX Designer / Developer within our Marketing department.

The successful candidate will co-ordinate digital design and user experience (UX) to develop the optimal online user experience. Starting with customer analysis and MVT you will be delivering design focus and UX specifications through wireframes, ensuring they support the necessary business and commercial needs. You will work closely with other departments to bring the business design and functional requirements to life.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with the creative team and developers to create BOB user experiences across all devices through responsive design
  • Optimise the customer user journey of all MandM Direct websites for commercial benefit
  • Apply user-centred design methodologies to resolve business requirements
  • Produce wire frames in line with brand and business requirements according to development priorities across all channels
  • Implementing best practices for usability and interface design and communicate these to creative and development teams
  • Conduct multivariate & A/B testing with the team and emulate learnings in wireframes
  • Liaise with IT teams with regard to content and design deployments
  • Review the current content release process and environment, recommend and implement improvements
  • Optimise design elements of the site to improve the customer experience and SEO. This will include image sizing, labelling and mapping
  • Conceptualise and communicate ideas through wireframes, MVT, user journeys, personas and prototypes
  • Process and assimilate feedback from users, MVT tests and other stakeholders in wireframes.

Skills and experience required:

  • Good knowledge of Axure, Adobe Creative Suite, including Flash Actionscript.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and XML
  • Experience of working in digital creative OR an education with a strong digital design element
  • Typesetting, design and layout skills
  • Some knowledge of accessibility standards
  • Knowledge of different digital platforms and responsive design – web, mobile (iPad and iPhone, BlackBerry, Android), applications.

Location and hours:
This is a permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm based in Leominster.
