Technical Operations Analyst

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual into the role of Technical Operations Analyst working within our IT department.

The successful candidate will support and enhance the core technical infrastructure. You will be required to work independently, be resourceful and show particular attention to detail. You must have an aptitude to learn, develop and adapt as circumstances or technologies change.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Take ownership and responsibility for diagnosing, solving and managing complex issues
  • To be actively operating either as part of a Scrum group or on your own with new installations and large projects
  • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot the server and core infrastructure
  • To provide support to 1st and 2nd line engineers and training where necessary
  • To ensure work is to a high standard, following company procedures with all work being fully documented.

Essential skills:

  • The ability to work independently, be resourceful, showing particular attention to detail
  • A keen aptitude to learn, develop and adapt as circumstances or technologies change
  • A clear communicator in written and verbal form

Candidates must also have a strong knowledge and understanding of the following systems/technologies:

Active Directory, Networking and TCP/IP, Windows 2003/8, Server administration/configuration, Exchange 2003/7/10, Experience with VMWare, Switches e.g. HP Procurve (E Series), Firewalls and VPN’s (Juniper), Experience of Terminal Services, DNS, DHCP, Clustering and SAN/NAS storage, AD, advanced group policy and scripting.

Some flexibility in hours will be necessary and individuals will be required to join an out of hours IT support rota upon completion of the probationary period.

Location and hours:

Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm and will be based in Leominster, Herefordshire.
